Day Eighteen - Charge of the Light Brigade

Who: I'mma go with everyone on this?
Where: all the eff over Riverfell
When: Early afternoon
Rating: R

Status: Closed, completed
Summary: Jan steps in first and finds River (and Pyro) fairly quickly. Together they find Lily and Jan sends River back with Lily before moving on with Pyro. Mal finds Jaime pretty quickly, and despite her initial panic, gets her home safely. Angua and Jasper rescue Billy and Kat from Voldemort - and Barney from Pandora. While rescuing Eric, Bella feeds on O-Ren before Edward kills her. While rescuing Luna, Quinn kills Fenrir.

Chase finds Pepper, though it's after her encounter with Tory, while she's in Sylar's clutches. He and Logan rescue her before Chase and Sylar have a throw-down of power that results in severe damage to one of the barracks.

Jan faded into invisibility the moment she slipped through the portal, and she looked around slowly. She licked her lips as she started down the row between the barracks, wondering where to start. Wondering if any of them were out. Wondering who'd broken for cover. Wondering who'd made it.

Reasoning she wouldn't be able to do too too much until Belle was out, she started to walk by the barracks, peering in the windows while trying to keep her thoughts as quiet as she could.

At least until Belle and the others arrived.

Bel grimaced at the smell coming from one of the rooms. The room the light hovered in front of. "Here," she said softly as she glanced to the rescuers.

"Stay back," Albus said to Rose before he pointed his wand at the door. It might be locked. It might not be locked. "Alohamora!" he called as he unlocked the door.

He, however, would let someone else go first as he stepped back to get closer to Rose.

Fenrir tilted his head as he heard and smelled people - and a dog? - outside. He bared his teeth in a growl before he pounced back toward Luna, wrapping one arm around her waist, and the other around her throat. She was his hostage, and he wasn't letting go. Not without a fight.

She'd been intending on fleeing when he gave her the option - she didn't care what she could run into outside, anything was better than being trapped in this room with this monster - and she cried out in pain and confusion when he didn't let her. She started twisting her body, thrashing against as the sobs were pulled from her. He'd said she could go!

Alice snarled, slipping into a crouch when she heard the sounds, moving to stand protectively in front of the wizards, and Quinn. She felt her body lurch forward toward the room before she hesitated - she didn't want to burst in on a rescue only to be burned to a cinder accidentally if the others had something planned.

"I can get her away from him first," she growled in an undertone to Johnny and Aisling. If she got the go ahead, she sped into the room, and - trying to ignore the stench - attempted to free Luna from Fenrir's grip by pulling his arms off her and letting her run to safety. If not, she waited gritted teeth for instruction on how to proceed.

Johnny nodded, putting out his flame for the time being. If she could do it quicker, then she might as well. It wasn't as if he was going to burn the place down.

Quinn's brow furrowed, and his fingers curled around his blade. If there was any trouble, that fucker was getting a knife between the eyes, he'd make sure of that.

He was surprised. The girl had looked like a little bit of nothing, but she was tougher than he'd expected. He hadn't braced at all and was thrown off balance. Snarling, he tried to pull away from the tiny, cold woman, snapping toward her with yellowed teeth.

Not thinking much about it, Teddy shucked his button up shirt, handing it to Luna once she was out of the room. He lifted his wand then, but there was a fair crowd in the doorway so he thought he was better off doing the rescue thing.

"You okay?" he asked her softly, helping her into the shirt if she needed it. But really, no one needed to be running around naked. Not here.

She was shivering, and crying, and she couldn't seem to figure out the buttons or where her arms were supposed to go in the shirt, so she accepted the help from Teddy.

She swallowed heavily a few times, trying to breathe, trying to form words. DauphinMarians. Rescuers. They'd protect her. She didn't need to cry, or be scared, or... anything. She should speak. She should respond. She should say that she was all right now. But the fear seemed to be restricting her vocal cords. She tried to nod her head yes... but it came out as more of a shake no.

Alice released Fenrir once Luna was out, and dodged his attacks as best she could, edging her way out of the room. Her task was complete, and she didn't want to get caught in the fire-and-magic crossfire.

Quinn didn't wait. He knew they hadn't been told to kill any of the members of the other side, but someone had to pay for all of this and since Fenrir was right here, he would be the one to do it. Wrist flicking expertly, he sent a blade through the monster's head, aiming straight between his eyes.

He waited to see if it had connected, already prepping a second weapon.

Johnny had already began to move out now that the girl was rescued, but he spotted Quinn still working away and hesitated, hovering nearby, a hand flaming up just in case.

Fenrir, disinclined to lose his prize, had lunged after her. Momentum carried him forward, and his eyes crossed almost comically as he attempted to see what had struck him. He thumped down to the floor, sliding and curling onto his side. He slid to a stop near Quinn's feet.

"Okay, hey," Teddy said. "It's okay." He glanced to the others before nodding toward Luna. "Going to get her out of here." He pulled free his stone and reached out for Luna, slipping an arm around her shoulders to get them back to DauphinMare.

Rose kind of made a shrieky sort of shocked noise as she watched the werewolf ... die. Oh, god. She turned toward Albus, burying her face against his shoulder. She wasn't sad the wolf was dead, no, nothing like that ... but she'd just watched it happen.

It was a little shocking.

Alice gazed down at the werewolf, disgusted. While she didn't like that these young kids had had to see that - to see death - she couldn't pretend that she wasn't sorry to see him go. The worst of the images in her mind seemed to have disappeared.

Or maybe she was just getting better at ignoring them.

"We should go," she murmured softly, mostly to Bel, but she also directed the statement as Aisling and Johnny. "Find... someone else."

If there was anyone left to find. She was pretty sure that most - if not all - of the residents were accounted for now.

Quinn looked down to Fenrir, and he was half inclined to retrieve his blade, but no. He could get another. One last disgusted glance was thrown to the wizard before he turned tail and made after the others.

Johnny nodded, leaving it at that. He hadn't really done much, but that was fine. Still, he was disgusted with the things he'd seen here, enough so that he almost felt sick to his stomach.

"Do you need me and Rose?" he asked as he pulled his stone out of his pocket. He offered it to one of them - in case they needed an extra. He could use Rose's. "I think..." Albus tilted his head toward the girl. He didn't think Rose really needed to be here for this.

"Go on," Ais said gently to them, watching as they faded out before she glanced to Johnny and Quinn. "We'll come with you," she said to Alice and Bel. At this point, she thought it best they all stick together.

Bel nodded before she scented around, starting off to follow trails ... but they mingled so much with the others. Every captive trail seemed to meet a trail of a DauphinMarian, so she was starting to wonder if maybe they'd gotten lucky ... that everyone was home free.
